This activity list, which covers levels 0 - 6 and beyond, is an important resource that has aided technology, language and basic skills instruction over the course of the last 7 years. It is a resource of links to quizzes, lesson planning aids, and other resources mostly appropriate to adult learning at the primary and secondary education levels. Many of these resources were created by Minneapolis ABE staff.

Englishspeak.com is a free and award winning new system for learning to speak English. The program contains lessons that give special attention to English pronunciation and everyday language. With over 100 lessons, Englishspeak.com provides a large amount of audio content. Users have access to two different speeds of playback for each item.

Studio 4 Learning offers online videos in the following areas: math, sciences, English, languages, business, art, and test preparation.

This web site aims to help students to memorize vocabulary in an easy and efficient way, by using pictures, sounds and games.

PowerPoints take about two minutes to download, but once they download, they are very fast. To download a lesson, just click on a link and wait--the presentation will appear on the screen by itself. PowerPoint lessons are great for ESL, TESOL, EFL, and K-12 students. They show well on interactive whiteboards and can be used as writing, speaking, and listening prompts. If you're a teacher showing a PowerPoint presentation to the whole class, it's best to download and preview the slideshow before showing it. You can also have students access the ppt presentations in the school's computer lab.

The Learning Resources site offers web-delivered instruction using current and past CNN San Francisco bureau and CBS 5 - KPIX (CBS Broadcasting) news stories. Western/Pacific LINCS (part of the National Institute for Literacy's LINCS Project), and Literacyworks has partnered with news agencies to develop an online literacy site that benefits all learners and instructors. This material is intended for adult literacy and educational purposes.

Each module includes the full text of each story and interactive activities to test comprehension. The learner can choose to read the text, listen to the text, and view a short video clip of the story. Each module is designed for ease of use so the learner can use it independently. The instructor can also incorporate any story into class activities and lesson plans.

The Special English Web site is an excellent tool to practice and improve your American English. Find a report that interests you. You can find our scripts by topic or by the name of the radio program. Read along and listen to the audio report. At the same time you will learn new information about a variety of subjects from issues in the news to American history.
